What happen was just retool the workers to serve in the factories instead of the naval base. With a university, nantah, which the government choose to close down, their very own airline, SIA, which took most of the long range aircraft in Malaysian Singapore Airlines.

Was SINgapore a fishing villiage in 1819? were you around??? NANTAH was built with the contribution from the blood Sweat & tears of many the Chinese working class...my parents generation are very angry that it was closed down, they can never forgive that act..what do you know about Naval Base after the British withdrew from Suez canal??..It is the people who worked hard to build this city into a Nation..not just only a leader...

And the late businessman tycoon Tan Lark Sai who initiated the development of Nanyang University and he contributed all the land and the most funds for its development was exiled by the old bastard to Ipoh for a very long period of time.

Mr Tan Lark Sai was only allowed to return to his homeland not long before he passed on.
