It looks like Mdm Vellama is under financial pressure, as revealed by Reform Party Chief Kenneth Jeyaretnam in July/Aug 2012.

The picture is clearer when TRE revealed in a 2 Oct 2012 article that Vellama's mortgage bank is going to take action against her HDB mortgage, and at the same time Vellama has urged the public to donate to her legal fund. It was boldy estimated that $50,000 was needed .

On 8 Oct 2012, TRE published another article with an appeal to the public to donate towards her legal fund and her personal POSB account was given. An amount of $1,060 was collected through public donations. It is not known when was the amount updated.

Last Friday, on 2 Nov 2012, Vellama told Yahoo SG that she is facing financial difficulties and urged for public support, again [4]. On the same day, Channel News Asia reported that Judge Pillai has ruled that no legal costs shall be paid by either party.

Some questions:

1) What is the donation amount she has received now?
2) Was the donations properly accounted for?
3) Was it used towards her legal funds or to pay off the banks?
4) The monies was donated to Vellama's bank account but lawyer M Ravi was the one who informed TRE of the amount received. Does M Ravi has access to her bank account or M Ravi was informed of the amount based on trust?
5) Has the bank taken any action against her HDB flat?
6) Why did she take bank's mortgage for her HDB flat?
7) What are the financial difficulties she is facing now? Cannot seek MP's help or CDC or SINDA's help meh??????????

Singaporeans may be kind hearted and compassionate but that doesn't mean anyone can start online donation drives anyhow and hope to get away with easy monies.

If they lose their money, this wont be the first time they get con by TRE

They should donate to this forum instead. Donors here can actually see how their money is put to good use.

Take it as a compensation for the risk they took, the emotional stress they endured, the physical effort they made and the time spent.
It is money well spent.

help to pay for CSJ bankruptcy costs of 30K so that he can run for elections in 2016?

How many part-time cleaners have ever been in the limelight, with their pictures splashed in the MSM?

Nobody wish to be in such limelight, especially in Sinkie Land.
Wonder how many times she ran round her block before deciding to take up the challenge.

Imo, her actions were directed. Her running round her block, if it happened, was only 'wayang'.

We have seen enough of such scammers. It started with TT Durai, then the Novena church trial (Amutha Valli) and now this.

Spark publicity and after that cry father cry mother say not enough money and need public financial support. Now that she no need to pay the court, how is she going to return the money?

I have a feeling nothing will be returned.

A gift$ to Mdm Vellama for the risk she had undergone for common good...

Any forummers donted?
I didn't, so I don't care how it is been used.

the money will become her reward for taking them to court. will she sponsor M Ravi's medical bill?

Some blogs have hailed her as a hero.
I wonder whether she has got enough donations to retire in style.

If she get a large enough amount, be sure that she will sue here and there when they need her.
