So if a club only takes in people of certain status is considered "elitist" club? If like that there are so many organisation/poltical party is also like this leh.

The group must be voluntary in nature.
The group must be form with people with same goal. Usually it voice down to making money or having fun.

My Grandfather belong to Char Yong Dabu association; mainly Chinese from FuJian Dapu province. This type of association is strong in the 80s; but the power have be weaken due to policy in Singapore to avoid power centralisation to such group.

I heard that those north indian are taking over leadership position and our south indian friends are slowing being kicked out of the committee.

It has become so bad that some south indians dun feel like going to the temple.
