We get lousy bookkeepers who think they are accountants and they only know how to play the GDP numbers game which a primary school kid can be taught to do.
Good research must have grounding and understanding what society needs now and in the future. Our misnomered scholars (all my worldclass friends are astonished at the low level of our paper holding claimed scholars) only want a guaranteed success in research to cover their asses for their bonuses and payrise. That is why things go wrong. Do not get me started on how many goondu "scholars" got cheated in China by the Chinese, Germans and a few other nationalities on projects that a little due diligence will tell you is a fraud. And our goondus think they are smart when the conmen laugh to the bank on SGP taxpayer monies. If an independent review was done on how many has been spent by our goondu "scholars" 80% will need to be hanged or jailed for life.

A forensic audit should be done on Temasek and GIC when the PAP is thrown out of office in 2016 and the book must be thrown at those responsible for losing the billions - tens or hundreds - over the past few years.
