Even the PAP MP for Mountbatten Lim Biow XXX was frustrated enough to tell NewPaper once in an interview that MPs have zero say on bus routes etc because all these are planned at national level. Probably to a lesser extent, but I think it can retain the deposit.

It all depends on the Punggol East residents really. Will those who had voted for Michael Palmer switch support to a non-PAP candidate. I'm not talking about the diehard PAP loyalists, but those middle ground voters who're open to the opposition but gave Michael Palmer the benefit of the doubt.
