Taipei, April 18 (CNA) Separate assaults on Vietnamese workers were reported two days in a row in Taiwan's southern city of Tainan, raising concerns from their employers, the police said Saturday.

A Vietnamese worker was struck by eggs on April 15, while another three were assaulted in a similar fashion the following day, the police said.

Surveillance camera footage showed that the attackers, who are likely to be a group of 5-6 young people, rode motorcycles to follow the victims into alleys during late hours.

It is likely that the attackers are local people who are familiar with the streets, the police said.

The workers declined to press charges, but the police said it is following up to apprehend the criminals.
