The Turtle Ship, also called the Geobukseon, was used in the late 1500s. They became famous for helping Korea defend against Japanese invasions.

I remember watching the movie of Yi Sun Shin where this one turtle ship along with their 10 battleships drove away the Japanese fleet that had 300 ships in total.
