JPJ: Emergency lane abusers will be charged

JOHOR BARU: The Road Transport Department (JPJ) has recorded 91 vehicles that blocked the way of an ambulance along an emergency lane heading to an accident scene along the North South Expressway near Ayer Keroh recently.

Out of the 91 vehicles caught using the emergency lane, seven have been identified and notices issued to owners to assist in investigations of on the incident which occurred on May 22.

JPJ Enforcement Division chief Datuk V. Valluvan said that a video recording clearly showed the seven cars were clearly obstructing the way of the ambulance, which was rushing to an accident scene at KM228 near Ayer Keroh.

"We are going all out to investigate the matter and offenders will not be issued a compound but directly charged in court under Section 53 of the Road Transport Act 1957 which carries a maximum fine of RM2,000 or six-month or both,” said Valluvan.

He told reporters here after a dialogue session with Johor state JPJ enforcement officers here on Thursday that such stern action was necessary as abuse of emergency lanes has been worsening, especially along expressways.*

It is learnt that it took an ambulance about an hour before it could reach the accident scene involving two motorcyclists, both died on the spot.

Aiyah compare apple to apple leh. You got see cars jamming up the emergency lane in Spore? Yes but only on road leading to the causeway and the culprits are msians. The truth is emergency lane is like ordinary lane to mudlanders . So when mudlander say they live ordinary lives, it can mean anything from letting their 5 dogs bark non stop is ordinary, building an illegal extension and encroaching on neighbour space is also ordinary to them lah. Oh not forgetting hitting car not stopping and let people chase them is also minor and ordinary . When caught they will cry foul it's a matter of race lol.

If they had both died instantly why did they waste time sending and ambulance. They should have sent a hearse instead.

Msia newspapers when reporting people being killed in crash always will report "the body is sent to so and so hospital for autopsy". So still need ambulance and not hearse. In comparison, spore newspapers don't give such details.

in california, if there's a road fatality code from first responders, dispatchers will send a team from the coroner's office. medivac will be repurposed for other dispatches and missions. they will not carry fatalities to the hospital or coroner's lab. the coroner will arrange for bodies to be carried via other means, e.g. coroner's vans or special vehicles. not sure what the practice is in jiuhu.

Neither do I know. I have never stepped into JB public hospital. Not like the millions of FT including mudlanders crowding Spore public hospitals, so much so I have to either wait half year or go to Mount E hospital for scan. End up paying thousands. And fucking idiots sinkie are so stupid to can't tell the difference between buying house in JB and FT in Spore. Hopelessly stupid.
