THERMAL cameras have become commonplace at border points throughout the world to detect travellers with high fever and for other reasons. And they are effective - sometimes with embarrassing consequences.

STOMPer SnakeEyes received this video via email showing how a thermal camera can detect even the letting off of gas from a human body. He's not convinced this really happens. SnakeEyes thinks it's a hoax but if this were the case, then the imaging is very well done.

In an email to STOMP today (Aug 24), the STOMPer says:

“Although thermal cameras have been removed from Changi Airport, they are still being used by hospitals at their main entrances. So, the next time, you visit a relative or friend at the hospitals here, don't let off gas, thinking it's undetectable. You may just be on candid thermal camera!”
