1) Do reverse image search
2) Search maps (streetdirectory dot com is a bit more detailed and accurate for the SG map)
3) Retrieve an archived copy of the website on Google cache
4) Machine-translate text using Google Translate

personal preference is still google especially when you are looking for things to buy online around the globe, as in it’s more trusted. they probably rate the online retailers as the real thing or some scammy site.
when i can’t find the resource or not convinced with uncle google search results, i will use others. cos’ sometimes there may be things that google don’t want you to know.

I just abhor the blxxdy Yahoo and Chili getting on my laptop's browser (despite my default Google settings). Not quite the techie, so I got to reset darn settings.

I second duckduckgo, been using them for five years, they are legit. Those who are still using google, just try this: Search for anything that you haven't searched for the past 2-3 years.. F.E., google 3-5 times interior design, home painting, carpentry etc, things that relate to home renovation and design. Then go take a shower or shit, come out and refresh your facebook/ insta/ twitter... VOILA! you magically start seeing designers, painters, contractors' ads.. you might even see Mark Lee's face from one of the interior designers' firms. Congratulations, your search info has just been sold as CPI or CPC...

How to change:

1. Open your Chrome browser.
2. Hit enter and Bookmark the website.
3. Now, go to Settings by clicking at the top right.
4. Under "Search engine," click Manage search engines.
5. Find "Other search engines."
6. To the right of DuckDuckGo search engine, click More.
7. Select Make default.
