US did not like it when sanctions were imposed on to them.

GYEONGJU: China’s decision to impose export controls on rare earths was a “mistake” and drew attention to Beijing’s ability to use them as a coercive tool, US treasury secretary Scott Bessent said in an interview published today.
Beijing announced new controls in October on exports of technologies related to rare earths, crucial for manufacturing in defence, automobile, consumer electronics and other industries.

The restrictions were a major sticking point in trade negotiations between Beijing and Washington, and China said it would halt them after Presidents Xi Jinping and Donald Trump met this week.

Bessent expressed confidence that the United States and its allies could dismantle China's monopoly on rare earths and achieve full self-sufficiency in processing within one to two years.

Xi played his cards way too early what an idiot he is.

In the meantime the US has already secured all the supply it needs for the foreseeable future thanks to the wisdom and foresight of the world's best president ever!

LOL, China better start growing some food because in future starvation will hit China and you can't eat the rare earths that you overproduced but no one is buying.
