Why do Americans publicly broadcast prayer video for politicians?
Hey all, foreigner here (from Japan). I recently came across a video of of American evangelical leaders publicly praying for the US President.
As a foreigner, this is very puzzling to me. Since America has people of many different religions, shouldn't a prayer like this be kept private to respect other non-Christian citizens?
I am curious if broadcasting this is just political engineering to rally supporters.
To put it in a Japanese context, seeing this feels just as weird as if Sanae Takaichi gathered Unification Church executives and broadcasted them praying together live on TV. It just looks incredibly bizarre to us.
Why do they make it so public instead of praying privately?
