After a tense three-hour stand-off on Friday (July 4), a man in his 50s was arrested for attempted suicide in Bedok Reservoir Road.
The man is believed to have grabbed a knife and threatened to kill himself after quarrelling with his wife in their third-storey flat at Block 632 at about 3pm, reports The New Paper.
He locked himself in the flat and refused to budge despite attempts by police negotiators to persuade him to surrender.
At about 6pm, the police broke down the door to his flat.
About 15 minutes later, the man, who had a bloodied face, was taken down and sent to Changi General Hospital. His face was bloodied and he had cuts on his nose, cheeks and neck.
The report also states that the man is believed to be depressed and was on medication.
No one else was injured in the incident. Police investigations are ongoing.

What an idiot loser. All married couples have a tiff once in a while but that's no reason to drown yourself. If he's really pissed off with her he should drown her instead. :p
