Two men arrested for loanshark harassment

Two men aged 18 and 23 were arrested in Pasir Ris for loanshark harassment on July 28.
The police had received a call on that day at 7.19pm with a complaint of loanshark harassment at a unit along Pasir Ris Street 12.
The officers who responded to the case spotted the two men at Pasir Ris Drive 6.
Police investigations revealed that the duo had earlier scrawled loanshark-related graffiti on the HDB staircase wall and splashed paint at a unit.
Two mobile phones, a cap, a sling bag and a packet of white substance believed to be controlled drugs were seized for investigations. Additionally, both the suspects are also being investigated by the Central Narcotics Bureau for drug-related offences.
If found guilty of loanshark harassment, they face being be fined between $5,000 and $50,000, a mandatory jail sentence of up to five years and mandatory caning of up to six strokes.
