Two arrested for stealing S$7.9k diamond ring

SINGAPORE: Police have arrested two men suspected of stealing a diamond ring worth about S$7,900 from a jewellery shop along Victoria Street.
Police said they received a report on Saturday that a diamond ring displayed for sale was discovered missing from the store.
Through the store's CCTV system, police conducted extensive enquiries so as to establish the identity of the person involved.
Some four hours after the case was reported, officers from the Central Police Division and the Police Intelligence Department arrested a 38-year-old foreigner at Changi Airport Terminal 2 as he was about to leave the country.
The stolen diamond ring was recovered from him.
Another 34-year-old foreigner, who was believed to be travelling with the first suspect, was also arrested by officers. - CNA/jc
