SINGAPORE : Police have arrested a woman and a man who used false identity cards to enter the Resorts World Sentosa Casino.

Both were under Exclusion Orders by the National Council on Problem Gambling.

The first case involved a 39-year-old female Singapore permanent resident who had used a man's identity card on December 17 last year.

A 40-year-old man was also arrested for lending the woman his brother's identity card.

In the second case, a 33-year-old Singaporean man was caught using his wife's identity card on January 12.

His wife was similarly arrested for abetting the offence.

The four suspects will be charged in court on February 25.

If convicted, they can be fined up to S$10,000 or jailed up to 10 years, or both.

Police say they will take stern action against those who attempt to enter the casinos with false identity cards, as well as those who allow their identity cards to be misused.
