Two armed robbers caught within 11 hours

SINGAPORE - Two men, aged 22, were caught by the police for their suspected involvement in a case of armed robbery on Feb 11.
At 3.30am that day, police were notified by an employee of a convenience kiosk located along Serangoon Road that two men had robbed the store of $600 and fled with 20 cartons of cigarettes.
The men were reported to be wearing balaclavas - a kind of face mask.

Officers from the Central Division arrived at the scene and spotted two men behaving suspiciously. They fled upon seeing the officers and one of them was caught.
After follow-up investigations, the second suspect was arrested on the same day at 2.30pm at Block 520 Woodlands Drive 14. Cash, cartons of cigarettes, gloves, a balaclava and an assortment of weapons were seized.
Both men will appear in court on Feb 12.
If found guilty of armed robbery, they face a jail term of up to 14 years and will be liable to caning of not less than 12 strokes.
