氣象局前中央氣象局氣象預報中心主任吳德榮表示，今日至下周一天氣悶熱，要防中暑，大台北高溫仍在36度左右，氣象局已對台北市、新北市發布高溫橙色或黃色燈號。另外，由於「巴比侖」引進來的水氣，午後對流強度強、局部雷陣雨範圍擴大，除了山區、平地受影響的機率也提高，各地區在其他時間亦有局部陣雨或雷雨，尤其西半部；對流降水常伴隨局部性的「劇烈天氣」，需留意雷擊、強風、瞬間大雨。

氣象專家吳德榮在「三立準氣象·老大洩天機」專欄指出，從中央氣象局路徑潛勢預測圖顯示，「巴比侖」未來行徑先向西北，抵琉球附近再轉北。對台灣的主要影響，今日至下周一(30至2日)台灣附近水氣被引進來，除午後的雷陣雨外，其他時間也有局部陣雨或雷雨發生，尤其是迎風面的西半部。另外就是海面風浪也會因此而增大，海邊活動應注意安全。
吳德榮表示，今(30日)晨西半部已有局部降雨，苗栗、台中山區時雨量還超過50毫米。東半部雲量少、天氣較晴朗。最新(29日20時)歐洲中期預報中心(ECMWF)模式模擬顯示，今日至下周一(2日)天氣悶熱，要防中暑，大台北高溫仍在36度左右；太平洋高壓偏弱，加上「巴比侖」引進來的水氣，大氣的不穩定度提高；午後對流強度強、局部雷陣雨範圍擴大，除了山區、平地受影響的機率也提高，各地區在其他時間亦有局部陣雨或雷雨，尤其西半部；對流降水常伴隨局部性的「劇烈天氣」(雷擊、強風、瞬間大雨…)，應注意氣象局的特報。
