Charged over woman's death

A TRUCK driver was charged in a district court on Friday with causing a motorcyclist's death along an expressway by doing a negligent act.
Tan A Tee, 61, was driving a prime mover along Pan-Island Expressway when he allegedly failed to keep a proper lookout ahead and hit Madam Ong Chwee Lan's motorcycle on Oct 22 last year.
Madam Ong, 59, a personal chauffeur, was pronounced dead on the spot less than half an hour later.
Tan's bail was extended.
His case is fixed for a pre-trial conference on June 8.
If found guilty of causing death by doing a negligent act, he can be jailed for up to two years or fined or jailed and fined.
