The biggest nut job is Acting Transport Minister Jeffrey Siow who is in favour of allocating COEs to private-hire vehicles. Mr Siow claims it is more efficient and benefits a wider group of S'poreans than private car ownership, as PHVs can be shared among many users. I support Mr Brown who suggested that if PHVs are so efficient, then PAP ministers and their families should lead by example and give up their private cars to benefit more S'poreans. Mr Siow's argument is out of touch and places an unfair burden on citizens while those in power do not face the same constraints.
