Comments may be biased, prejudiced or even outrageous. BUT, if without TR’s whistleblowing on this Soo’s background, all of the facts and truth will be buried. It is not about political agendas but principle behind the right for Singaporeans to know the truth and facts. Of course his case is irrelevant to his political aspirations but proves how our local media and press are controlled. Such is propaganda of brain washing all of us, always painting a rosy picture but sweeping all dirt under the carpet. Do you, as a Singaporean, wants to live in this “bed of roses”, naively accepting what comes by and grumble in secrecy on the escalating cost of living?
Freedom of speech, press and media does not seem to exist. Even ST journalist Jessica Cheam, “made this startling admission on her FaceBook added that she finds herself in a frustrating and tough position to work as a journalist in Singapore”. Another example is Yahoo FTP. Their Blog Reporter, Mr Md Faris, a staunch supporter and volunteer at a PAP Branch, reported on this case of Soo on 15-Dec 2010 and any facts were omitted. Comments flooded in saying TR had reported it, mentioned his background and political affiliation. References on TR’s report were stated in quite a few of the comments and almost all were very negative on why FTP did not give the full picture.
I was one of them who also questioned the Blog Reporter’s integrity and if there were intentions to omit. Then, I further to set the question to PA if they would allow this man to continue serve the community after serving his sentence since in their 15-Dec 2010 report, it was said Soo was a very helpful person, a good volunteer with leadership and serves the community well which was why he was honoured with a Public Service Medal.
But the truth is, PA will never allow this man (Soo) to go back to serve the community under their umbrella. So, what does that mean? PA supports The Yellow Ribbon Project and helps ex-offenders of the law to integrate back into the society.
With my comment and others following suit, negatively hammering FTP, guess what happen next? Yahoo FTP deleted that report and all comments, and replaced it with a similar report, by the same Blog Reporter. This time round, it was better written and even included a so-called response from PA but it was side tracked cleverly.

TR is for all of us Singaporeans, an alternative media, press and voice. Though not as laudable as Wikileaks, it is our own version – Sinkileaks.
