In her latest posting on Facebook, embattled newbie PAP MP Tin Pei Ling wrote that she was not promoted by her company Ernst and Young:
“Rumour has it that Ernst & Young gave me a triple promotion to become a Director. This is not true & I’m surprised so many people actually believed it! I’m still at my current job grade.”
Soon after Ms Tin was elected as MP for MacPherson GRC, rumors began circulating in cyberspace that she has been promoted to director to better ’suit’ her new status now as an elite member of the exclusive PAP club, much to the chagrin of netizens.
Though Ms Tin has denied the rumors, we have received unconfirmed tip-offs from readers that Ms Tin was slated to be promoted in July this year.
Most of the directors in Ernst and Young are in their 40s and 50s and have attained their positions only after several years of service and experience.
While Ms Tin has begun to enjoy her $15,000 monthly allowance as a PAP MP, there are still no updates from the police on her case.
A Singaporean lodged a police report against Ms Tin two weeks ago for allegedly flouting election laws by posting a comment on her Facebook on ‘Cooling-off’ day which was later attributed to her moderator ‘Denise He.’
It is not known if Ms Tin or Ms He has been called up by the police for questioning yet.
Ms Tin’s case is being handled by IO Liew Shiow Mei of the Commercial Crime Division, contactable via 65573746.
