Thailand history is at least few hundreds years or more and has matured with a culture.
One can find toothpicks and tissues on almost every table from restaurants to food-courts and even at road side stalls.
In Singapore, one can only find them in restaurants and sometimes you have to ask for it.
You cannot find them in food-courts here because they get stolen very fast, including the holders....even minister steals them!
Is this because Singapore is still too young....less than 200 yr old or is this Singapore's culture?

it's a globally strategic important dental hygiene implement requiring only a tiny bit or splinter of a tree. bio-degradable, very eco-friendly, recyclable and easy to store and use. the perfect tool for mankind. can even use it to pick finger and toe nails besides serving bite-sized hor d'oeuvres with it. i normally pick my teeth clean after a meal and upon seeing what's on the tip of the toothpick, i either slurp it or lick it. food particles stuck between teeth always taste best after a gargantuan toothpick effort to dislodge them, especially when they are vege or that "green" stuff on white teeth. :p :D
