"Yesterday I heard on the Internet [that] Dr Tony Tan tried to relate terrorism with all those [dissidents] who were arrested. I challenge Dr Tony Tan to categorically state that we are terrorists so that we have the opportunity to bring him to court and sue him for slander!" [applause]

"Is Dr Tony Tan implying that I, Dr Poh Soo Kai, and many others are terrorists? Is he implying that Lee Mao Seng, Liew Seng, and others are terrorists, that Said Jahari is a terrorist? Let him come out and say categorically: are we terrorists?
Either he's an ignoramus or he's a blatant liar!" [applause]

"In both cases it is unbecoming for a man of his position. The PAP has been using the ISA not for security reasons but for suppressing legitimate political opposition. Batch after batch of detainees since 1963 to 1987 were launched by the PAP to what they call, suppress, to 'nip in the bud' any opposition, any dissident opposition arising in Singapore. That explains the dearth of opposition until lately in the general elections. " Dr Lim Hock Siew

"What about those who say you use the judiciary to silence critics?

That's nonsense. What are these critics? There are many critics of the PAP in Singapore. They are not all hauled up before the judiciary. Political opponents, so long as they keep within the law, don't need safeguards. They do not have to appear before the judiciary. But if they've defamed us, we have to sue them -- because if we don't, our own integrity will be suspect. We have an understanding that if a minister is defamed and he does not sue, he must leave cabinet. By defamation, I mean if somebody says the minister is on the take or is less than honest. If he does not rebut it, if he does not dare go before the court to be interrogated by the counsel for the other side, there must be some truth in it. If there is no evidence, well, why are you not suing?"

In Part II of the TOC dialogue, TT zipped his mouth up completely when Viswa the moderator raised the ISA issue again, as promised to TJS who was rudely interuppted by TT. He realised that he had shoved his foot in his mouth BIG TIME in the manner and the contents of his comments. His phoney response was indicative of his 'independence'.

If there is another dialogue session like this, Wooden Goh's comments should be posed to him. As a matter of fact, Dr Lim should also challenge Wooden to comment on the matter - I bet you the Wooden Spoonist will shove it big time into his mouth too.

Like what his mentor said "If you do not sue, than it must be true".

Will you vote for a guy who has been called ignorant, liar and unbecoming and yet has remained silent on the matter.?

How about the alleged favourable treatment for patrick tan when he was Defence Minister?

Any self respecting individual will call a press conference and take on the bulls by the horn!

Phony's arrogance, discourtesy and poor conduct are there for everyone to see. His evasiveness and failure to reply to questions asked of him were especially galling. The moderator should have hauled him in line and pursue the answers asked each and every time he threw smoke bombs that had nothing to do with the questions asked.

His body language, his perpetual smirks, sneers and sighs spoke volumes about him. It was good to see this wolf's genuine persona once the sheep's clothing provided for by the Prostitute Press, specially for his public and political image, was stripped of him.

A public inquiry must be held or the CPIB must step in to investigate his son's NS issue if public trust is to be restored in this institution.

Otherwise, the public can only conclude that MINDEF have something to hide.

The President does have the power to execute such an order.

"His concurrence also allows the Director of the Corrupt Practice Investigation Bureau (CPIB) to continue with investigations even if the Prime Minister has refused permission to conduct the investigations."

But it boils down to who we want as the president.

Wow...that would surely be TJS' first task if he became President.:oIo:
