toilets ,i must record this
there were times when it took me 3 days to reach my destination in Sulawesi indonesia...yes ,flights ..from SG to Jakarta than Jakarta to Ujong Padang and and so...the last leg is a journey by boat ,about 12 hours or so...it's kind of boat you hear every now and then sunk and a few hundred dies ...it's usually packed in the lower deck with human ,chicken ,goats and anything you can imagine...we are in the upper deck for "tuan besar" a cabin shared by 2 with a fan ...
but what is remarkable in this arrangement is ,that there is only 1 toilet in the lower deck ..next to the surau for Muslims to pray too..
anyone would expect this toilet to be the filthiest in the world since it's been shared by a few hundred strangers...but ,i found it incredibly clean ...not a shit or dirt left by the person who used before ...washed with water every time after use ...
something that left me with a deep impression about toilet cleanliness ordinary village folks in Indonesia follows ...which we city folks don't
