This only proves that KPK (Kao Peh Kia) is better off having less interaction with people in order to get more votes. It also means that the idiots overseas are the one fucking us here by voting for PAP.

SINGAPORE — Votes cast overseas for last Saturday’s Punggol East by-election were counted yesterday at North Vista Secondary School.

Of the 59 eligible voters, 27 cast their ballots, bringing the total number of votes cast in the by-election to 29,859, inclusive of 418 rejected votes. That is 94.34 per cent of the 31,649 registered electors in the constituency.

The Workers’ Party’s Lee Li Lian, who won the contest, had seven overseas votes. With the seven votes added, her final vote share is 16,045 (54.50 per cent).

The People’s Action Party’s Koh Poh Koon had 19 overseas votes. These pushed his original share of 43.71 per cent up slightly to 43.73 per cent, or 12,875 votes.

Neither Mr Kenneth Jeyaretnam of the Reform Party nor Mr Desmond Lim of the Singapore Democratic Alliance received any overseas votes. Channel NewsAsia

When I travel, I find myself disconnected from Singaporean news and had to read back on posting on the forum to know WTF is happening.

Cold comfort for the loser.

Besides these sinkies overseas who already managed to escape probably wanted to serve it back nicely for all those sad gits who have nowhere to run....

Tuayapeh says SCM PLPs comforting their PAP gods....a real bunch of running dogs who have their places all reserved for them here with me

Singaporeans who live and work overseas have a much more worldly and mature view of things.

They make comparisons and realise how good the PAP actually is.

These voters may be your New Citizens who have sublet their HDB in Punngol East and happily living off the rental back in their own countries.

Not really... It's just that they don't have to face the sardine packed MRT every morning...

Hello, PAP trying desperately to show that it has support!

Emphasis should be on this part: "Of the 59 eligible voters, 27 cast their ballots". In other words, the majority of registered overseas voters of PE, 32 to be exact, did not bother to vote.

If you take 19 votes as a percentage of eligible overseas voters, then it is only 32.2%, which by the way is LOWER than the arse doctor's share of local votes!

Of the 32 who did not bother to vote, it takes only 22 of them to vote for Ah Lian and she would have the majority.

Given that most ex-Sinkies upgraded because of dissatisfaction with the PAP as well as the daft 60.1% that allowed this to happen, if those 32 bothered to vote, it is likely that a lot of them will vote for Ah Lian. Sinkies need to analyse what they read and not take everything at face value.

It also shows that those who have upgraded are more concerned with what is happening in their adopted countries. Sinkie bashing on the internet is just a pastime.

Some are probably Sporeans working in Spore consulates, GLCs,.... overseas. They voted according according to economics, their job security.

Even if they want to vote opposition, it would be too risky as the PAP can easily determine who these 27 voted for.

SBF is the best place to get the latest news and most accurate info. Surfing the recent BE, we already knew the results 30 minutes before it was announced.

Those that voted for PAP overseas either are alienated by the adopted countrymen or want peesai to sink even further. Met a few of those unfriendly hermit sinkees abroad.

Or more likely: they're mostly civil servants posted overseas, and follow the same voting pattern as the 60.1%.
