On 8 Jun, TKL announced: "I have decided to contest the Presidential Election. My main aim is to give Singaporeans a wider choice of candidates to vote as the next President of Singapore."[1]
So many celebrated, that TKL had finally decided to go ahead (after previously quietly dropping when he failed to get 100k signatures in 2008).
Th...en on 18 Jun, he announced that he has a website "Tan Kin Lian for President Website".
On it, it stated: "“I will be submitting my application for the Certificate of Eligibility. If and when it is approved, I will decide if I wish to take part in the contest. It depends on the candidates that are approved for this election and feedback from the general public.”[2]
So perhaps not. It's another typical TKL flip.
Then he changed his mind again. Today, TKL announced: "If I get the certificate of eligibility, I will contest the Presidential election. "[3]
Yeah! It's a "yes" once more!
But are we getting a flop..... soon? (pun intended)
