The man's case was heard on Jul. 22.

A gag order is in place to protect the identity of the victim.

The location of the incident was redacted.

According to charge sheets, the man had forcefully kissed the woman and touched her breast.

He is facing three charges in total.

Offered money

Between Mar. 17 and Jul. 1, the man attempted to use an intermediary to tell the woman to withdraw her sexual assault allegation against him, where he would give her a S$20,000 monetary compensation in return.

The compensation terms involved accepting his apology, receiving S$10,000 for mental distress, hiring a lawyer to request that charges be withdrawn, and agreeing not to attend court.

For molestation, the man can be punished for up to three years in jail, a fine, caning, or receive any combination of such punishments.

For attempting to restrain the woman by locking the door, he may be given a jail term between two and 10 years and caning.

For attempting to bribe the woman to withdraw her sexual assault allegation, he may be given a maximum of seven years in jail, a fine, or both.
