TikTok given 24 hours to tackle conflict disinformation​

The CEO of TikTok has been given 24 hours to inform the EU of measures being taken to counter disinformation after Hamas' attacks, Reuters reports.
EU industry chief Thierry Breton issued the deadline to Shou Zi Chew following similar warning letters to X owner Elon Musk and Meta Platforms' Mark Zuckerberg.
Explained: Earlier this week, Mr Breton said misinformation, as well as fake and manipulated imagery, was circulating on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Elon Musk responded by telling him to provide a list of the "violations" of EU rules.
The online content rules, known as the Digital Services Act (DSA), require large online platforms to remove illegal content and to take measures to tackle risks to public security and civic discourse.
