SINGAPORE: Three teens aged between 18 and 19 have been charged with housebreaking.

Muhammad Danial Soffian, Muhammad Herwan Huzaini and Muhammad Nazrul Mohamed Khairi were on Wednesday accused of breaking into Yusof Ishak Secondary School at Bukit Batok Street 25.

The trio allegedly forced open the metal roller shutter of the school canteen on Tuesday at about 3am to gain access into the premise.

They are accused of stealing S$600 in cash and five bottles of "Yakult" drinks.

If convicted, the highest penalty is a jail term of between two and 14 years for each of the accused. - CNA/nd
