The getai at Lorong 24, Geylang on Monday night has disappointed many with its "lack of sex".

Getai performances have become more "sexually charged" in recent years. The bawdy shows usually attract hordes of middle-age men and foreign workers, and feature female artistes in sexy costumes.

Attacted by the large crowds of mature men are also street hookers, who home in on the opportunity to make more business.

The getai at Geylang on Monday night was a departure from the norm.
It did not feature any female artistes in sexy costumes. (The only female artiste sporting a mini skirt was 14-year-old Lai Hui Ru.)

Surprisingly, there were also no street hookers working their trade among the crowds of men.

Many "uncles" reportedly left disappointed without the "extra entertainment".
