He survived when Singapore Airlines' plane hit construction equipment on a Taipei runway and went up in flames on Oct 31, 2000.

He was even hailed a hero for staying back to help people evacuate the plane.

But Mr Mark Tay Kiok Cheng, 51, who was the leading steward on the ill-fated Flight SQ006, died on Tuesday at 10.30pm in a motorcycle accident on the East Coast Expressway.

His bike is believed to have skidded.

Read the full report in The New Paper on Friday (March 23).

why god cant always protect him ? ;) . oh ....those delusion ppl goin to said god is busy protecting other ppl ?

What like final destination? That accident was 2000 more than twelve years ago.

If like final destination, he would have died twelve days later.

Don't blame everything to god lah! With all the state of the art science and technology, accidents like this still can happen?

Still put your blind faith in science?
