Do you want to hire Singaporeans first?
Army Khor,
Please visit the loo before you attend any show. You seemed like you were having painful constipation, trying to get your load of shit out and I thought you nearly fell off the chair tearing for ambulance. Your speech and body gestures were too painful to watch.
NTUC guy, I do not know his name.
Anyway all NTUC leaders have forgettable name for simple reason, you have been pro-employers for too long and your union members do not wish to remember who you are anymore. Besides, I have to say you look like a piece of log and most of the time I need to place my ears closer on the TV speaker to hear what you have mumbled, even if you choked and stammered to say something – hardly of any significance or value to Singaporean workers at all.
The Ang Moh from SICC, he obviously has learned some fishing skill from his homeland.
Pulling and releasing his words, not to offend Singaporeans but certainly pro-foreigners and brought home to the fact that MNCs are unwilling to train as it is time-wasting. Short cut to recruitment was his theme of the day, Realistic and cutting no craps to maximize the usage of loopholes available in our pro-immigrant policies.
SME representative.
The guys at least sound genuine, urging the govt to create more PMET jobs for higher paid workers and most SME couldn’t afford ideal salary and hardly any Singaporeans feel motivated (due to high cost of living) to take up low end job which his company faced the challenge to get cheap workers. My impression of him that he felt for Singaporeans PMET workers. A guy, I believed, has some nationality in his genes and probably served NS before.
Student, hardly given the chance to bombard but when he spoke, he urged the govt to review our education systems as something has gone wrong that employers could not find specific skill - directed (rather saracasticially) at the SICC Ang Mo who battled the lack of specific skill workers here. Than he counter-attack that his schools have many low-end jobs that replaced Singaporeans with cheap foreigners namely PRC. His words were like stick in his hands and the 3 PAP lapdogs struck dumb.
Most of the guests were employers themselves which I believe Amy Khor is not spared either (and the NTUC guy too?). Anyway, how objective were they when speaking on behalf of hiring Singaporeans worker first if they are the boss (or pro-employers in the case of NTUC) themselves?
The litmus test came as immediate while I was still skeptical about the selected guests; the host posts the guests a very simple question – “raise your hand if you prefer to hire Singaporeans first”. I felt extremely puzzled when Amy, NTUC rep and SICC Ang Mo were staring at each other for a “long time” before raising their hand (reluctantly?) or were they shy? Overall, as a Singaporeans representative in Parliament, union and whoever used Singaporean facilities, such gesture of feeling “forced” to accept us is exactly how PAP treated the people, totally unacceptable if we want to pride ourselves as Singaporeans and call Singapore our home.
The bottom line issue to them is profitability, nationality no longer exists in employers mind, loyalty to the people sound remote under PAP.
To add insult to injury, none of the host wanted employers to be legislated; all lifted their hand like the speed of thunder, in unison, preferring adhoc and powerless guidelines instead. The exact opposite when asked if they wanted to hire Singaporeans first. The host ended the talk-show and rather perfunctorily sealed us out that FT is important, much to the pleasure of Lee Hsien Loong.
Time to cancell your NTUC memberships if you have watched the show. Anyway don't bother to watch their repeated telecast because you have nothing much to lose if you have already accustomied to PAP ritual mother(fucking)hood.
