The UK sheltered a known Muslim terrorist Abu Hamza

An Islamic terrorist Abu Hamza faced 11 terror charges in the USA. He lost his hand and an eye in an explosion in Afghanistan while he was making a bomb, escaped the country when the Americans were tracking him, was responsible for many killings and personally tortured people. He fled to London, England to where the Muslim Mayor who was critical of the UK govt's new anti-terror legislation, supported Abu Hamza's refugee status. The flat Abu Hamza was given was in Mayor Khan's Ward. He was allowed to be a preacher at a Finsbury Park mosque. He received free legal aid, which cost over £1 million to British taxpayers. A Recovery of Defence Costs Order was made against Abu Hamza to pay the Legal Services Commission, but he has not repaid any money. Of all the countries in the world, including the Muslim ones he could have fled to, he chose England. Why did the UK shelter a known terrorist?
