The President represents and is supposed to bring together the spirit of all Singaporean races.
When you were in NTUC, the place became so "chinak". Wah! Got chinese paintings everywhere in the NTUC Income office. Other races didn't matter.
So I fear that with you and your "chinak" mentality, you will not have the hearts and minds and livelihoods of the minorities in your focus as well.
Singapore is a former crown colony. It might worth your while to know that apart from "Singlish" the standard English lingua franca is UK English. Hence, it's "centre" and not "center".
That's no big deal considering the Presidential Office is concerned with wider affairs of state.
