I thought long and hard about the future of Singapore and myself

Once again I hope this reaches TR Emeritus. I do not expect this to be posted anyway. I thought about it long and hard about the future of our country and myself.
I have written many articles myself, but I didn’t reveal it, because I know I am only going to cause hate messages, flawed reasoning, unforgiving criticisms and more importantly, unhappiness to myself.
I have also read many, if not all of the articles post here during the past 2-3 weeks. Although I am glad that many people are speaking out their unhappiness, but on the other hand, I always get disappointed after a while.
Nothing is going to change at all, at the end of the day, or rather elections, the dominant continues to dominate. There’s nothing me and my articles could do to change this. The reason is simple, from recent incidents it is evident that if you are obsessed with something, no amount of reasoning and facts can change your opinion towards it, even if it is morally wrong. It is also why I chose to give up on politics because I could sense depression and hopelessness whenever I think about it. With all of these in mind, I no longer have expectations except to hope for changes.
Nonetheless, I thank all contributors and administrators of this wonderful informative website for giving me plenty of things to think about.

Editor’s note: Rome was not built in a day. It takes time. Do take heart that the “dominant” is less “dominating” now than before especially after GE2011. Something must have happened in GE2011 that caused them to change their position, albeit to a small extent. Think about it…
