There is fundamentally inherent conflict of interest between China & US, strongly demanding a final and long term settlement, which is a SHOWDOWN & LIQUIDATION inevitable. What the idiot leaders are doing now is to kurb and dyke and dam the water. Struggling to prevent leak! Sealing the dam and build up pressure. All these Trade Talks and Negotiations, and handshakes, and silly peace efforts, are merely buying time. The more of time past the bigger amount of pressure and deadly energies will accumulate. If you put away the Trade War for now, you are closer to WW3. The longer you hold the bigger will be the WW3.
The more US-China effort to live in peace the higher risk of WW3 abruptly, delays only build up more pressure and accumulate explosive energies!
