MINI have launched an unusual publicity stunt to coincide with the Olympics - a recreation of the
Italian Job chase scene, featuring sporting legends.
The Britalian Job is a five minute adaptation of the classic gold-stealing chase through Turin, with
the twist that in this case, the MINI drivers are chasing a motorcyclist (later revealed to be Jodie Kidd)
who has stolen all the 2012 gold medals.
The cars tear through some of the best-known London landmarks, before a climactic "jump" scene at the
Olympic Stadium.
Matthew Pinsent, James Cracknell, and triple jumper Jonathan Edwards star as the drivers, although, of
course, the actual driving was all done by qualified stuntmen.
The film was the work of Phil Churchward, the lead director on BBC's Top Gear, and was released to
celebrate MINI's partnership with the Games.
