The future of the EV

africa, south america, india, central asia, middle east don’t and won’t have the reliable electric grid and recharging infrastructure plus the service and repair centers to accommodate and facilitate evs for at least the next 69 years. so it’s a moot prospect for evs to dominate the automobile industry in the 3rd world.

This can be solved with EREV. A ice Generator with smaller batteries.

Why do we use diesel and lpg to generate electricity and then use electricity to charge EV ?

Because it's more efficient overall per km, if you compare the conversion of diesel/LPG to electricity to EV, Vs diesel to ice.

I did the maths.

If everybody buy EVs then how our gahmen collect petrol tax? JB will also jialat liao

California uses 60 % renewable power. Australia not far behind at 40%.
We do not use diesel and lpg for electricity.
Sinkie uses Mostly LNG, the cleanest of carbon fuel. And trying to import clean power from Laos, Indonesia, Sarawak and Jiu hu.

The gahmen with all its wisdom will come up with a creative idea to collect taxes. I believe they want to track the distance you travelled and tax based on that.

still not pure ev. ice is still king in the 3rd world.
A ice generator charging the EV is still more efficient than current ICE cars. Plus you can use the car as a power station if there is a blackout in the third world. Just to charge your home. Or go camping and sleep with air conditioning if battery is fully charge.

Until the charging speed of an EV is the same as filling up a car tank with petrol, and is truly 'plug and play' without requiring using an app as an interface, EVs are not going to replace ICE vehicles anytime soon.

Maybe in future something better comes along e.g. hydrogen cars.

Also, China will not be involved in the future of 'renewable energy'.

A NIO car does a battery replacement in only 3 minutes.
Current charging speed using DC chargers are now up to 10-20 minutes from 30-80% from newer models.
Of course, if you charge at home using AC chargers, it may take a few hours to fully charge.

With Trump et al “Drill Baby Drill” policy…petrochemical definitely will be around in post 2050 world
The consumers will Determine whether ice can survive. From what know, air quality in China big cities have improved dramatically, hence the move towards EV. Plus ice cars are taxed heavily by local authorities.

Trump Sends Musk ‘Back Home to His Cars’ After DOGE Failures

https://sg.yahoo.com/news/trump-sends-musk-back-home-181138562.html

“He wants to get back home to his cars,” the president added as Musk received a round of applause.

Musk’s departure comes as Tesla’s profits have dropped 71 percent amid a backlash over his work at the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

Fake news.

DOGE is carrying on. It is now fully staffed with Musk's IT picks and the steps being taken to streamline the whole system and root out waste are ongoing. Musk will still be there once or twice a week.

DOGE will self destruct mid 2026. That was clearly stated when it was set up.

The the 1 to 2T in savings will be over these 2 years. There was never any target to save 2T in the first 100 days of the Trump presidency.

The drop in Tesla sales over the new year period was mainly due to the switchover of the production line from the old model Y to the new Generation Model Y which is now the top seller in USA.

Here's a summary via AI,

Below is a summary of what Elon Musk has stated about the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), focusing exclusively on his own statements regarding its aims, targets, and timelines, as found in his posts on X and public remarks directly attributed to him. No other sources are included, per your request.
Aims
  • Reduce Government Waste: Musk has stated that DOGE’s primary aim is to eliminate wasteful federal spending, describing government inefficiency as a “massive misuse” of taxpayer money. He wants to cut programs and expenditures that he considers unnecessary or fraudulent.
  • Streamline Operations: He aims to simplify federal processes, reduce bureaucracy, and modernize outdated technology, such as replacing magnetic tape storage with digital systems, to make government more efficient.
  • Cut Regulations: Musk has emphasized reducing “excessive” regulations that burden businesses and individuals, calling them a barrier to economic freedom.
  • Increase Transparency: He intends to use DOGE to publicly expose government inefficiencies via X, rallying public support for cuts by sharing examples of waste, like a $45 million Myanmar scholarship program.
  • Support Trump’s Agenda: Musk has said DOGE will align with Trump’s vision to shrink government, prioritizing initiatives like immigration enforcement and eliminating programs misaligned with administration goals, such as DEI initiatives.
Targets
  • Spending Cuts: Musk has set a long-term goal of cutting $1–$2 trillion from the federal budget by July 2026, describing $2 trillion as a “best-case scenario” and $1 trillion as more achievable. For the 2025/2026 fiscal year, he targets $150 billion in savings.
  • Specific Examples: He has highlighted:
    • $6.5 billion saved by reducing USAID contracts by 83%.
    • $1 billion from canceling DEI contracts.
    • $44.6 million from terminating underutilized leases.
    • $630 million from identifying fraudulent Small Business Administration loans.
    • $382 million from stopping unemployment payment fraud.
    • $4 billion annually by capping National Institutes of Health grant overheads.
    • $15 million from ending Department of Education DEI grants.
    • $45 million from canceling a Myanmar scholarship program.
  • Workforce Reduction: Musk has claimed 75,000 federal employees accepted buyouts and 55,000 positions were eliminated, citing $80 million saved by cutting DoD DEI programs as an example.
  • Fraud and Waste: He targets $233–$521 billion in annual fraud losses, aiming to recover significant portions through DOGE’s audits.
  • Agency Restructuring: Musk has advocated downsizing or eliminating agencies like USAID and the Department of Education, with USAID’s functions largely absorbed into the State Department.
Timelines
  • Establishment: Musk stated DOGE was launched on January 20, 2025, via executive order, with himself as the lead.
  • Expiration: He has consistently said DOGE will terminate on July 4, 2026, an 18-month timeline, coinciding with the 250th anniversary of the United States, by which time he aims to deliver $1–$2 trillion in savings.
  • Milestones: Musk reported $160 billion in savings by April 20, 2025, as a milestone toward the $150 billion fiscal year target, with the full $1–$2 trillion goal targeted for July 2026.
