The biggest winner in PE By-Election

Contrary to logic, the winner in the PE BE is not LLL. Winning the BE for LLL only gives her additional $16k of MP allowance per month. On the other hand, KPK is thanking his lucky stars that he lost the contest!

During the 10+ days of election campaigning, KPK has been Singapore's most famous Ass Doctor. For a newly established private sector surgeon, he had enjoyed free media coverage of all his medical credentials and positions appointed in the various medical bodies without running afoul of SMC's medical advertising rule (as well as a shot of him visiting/caring for his patient on cooling off day). All for the measly cost of an election campaign, probably in the region of $40K to $50K (assuming that he funded it himself). He even get to keep his election campaign deposit unlike the other 2 jokers.

As an Ass Doctor, all he needs is to perform 3 colonoscopies (about $5K each) (all in less than 1 day work) to make up for the MP allowance lost. With the media coverage, his name would be the first to come in mind every time someone needs help in the rear end. Given the intense public interest in him due to the BE, his Google ranking has also risen to 7th when you do a search on "Singapore colorectal surgeon" (Google ranking in search research is a function of the click-through rate).

Fortunately for him, he lost the elections and all the time demands associated with public service. He need not worry also if his resident comes see him at the MPS and ask for a free ass job. He is now free to get back to work and concentrate on his career development and money making with the new found fame. Yup, he's the biggest winner in the BE!

Only idiots will go to a doctor who is a loser, no matter lose what. A loser is a loser.
He may vent his anger on his patients from now on wards. It is a downward spiral for him from now on.

People googled, see his name, noticed he lost the election (meaning LOSER) and naturally avoid him.

He would do much better to keep a low-profile and get Google to delete all search results with his name on.

The way his campaign was fought, people will always remember him as full of shits.

cause for concern for any medical patient. He cannot decide whether he needs your
vote or not. Even for the next course of action, he got to wait for PM, LoL!

This is not something a man of good standing would like to be remembered.

Agree, politically, he has no credibility. But we are talking about his medical services here and not his performance as a politician. Not forgetting that there is still a core group of PAP supporters that would perhaps even sympathise with his dismal performance.

We will have to wait to see if he turns up (assuming that he's still contesting) in 2016 in his Ferrari or still stuck with his BMW.

The doctor was hoping for an easier life as a politician. He expects, aligned with the Young Turks, to be a cabinet minister quickly. That's a cool million a year for a cushy job. He can leave for work at any time he chooses and come home early, with no loss of income. That's a better lifestyle than a doctor. He also will enjoy a generous pension which 99 percent of sinkees won't have. Then there is the power, the status, having bodyguards round the clock and Gurkha to jaga his house.

From HDB to Leedon Park ...that would have been a great story. Alas, it will have to wait. Back to Mt E to see the rich Indons patients.

Contrary to the popular notion that all publicity is good, it really isn't so. In politics bad publicity will stick to one like a cheap suit. KJ, with his 353 votes (or 1.2%), is finished politically. I cannot imagine that he will put that on his CV. His wikipedia entry was edited on 27 Jan 2013 but there is no reference to Punggol East. This is why I have said many times that ANYONE can edit and write up a wikipedia entry.
