I thought chonqing is biggest city in china.
technically chongqing is the largest “city proper” in the world. it’s also the most populous city proper (municipality as differentiated from metropolitan area and urban area) in prc and the world with over 32m (2020 census). shanghai cums 2nd in prc at 24.87m in municipality population. in terms of metropolitan area (which includes other towns and suburban areas around shanghai) shanghai is ranked lumpar one at 41.35m (2020 census). thus, you’re not incorrect. it’s just a matter of definition. for example, the sf bay area 9-county metropolitan population is around 7.76m, the sf metropolitan area population is 4.75m (sf metro area includes sf, oakland, hayward, and other cities and towns in sf county), but sf city proper or municipality population is only 815k (2021 census).

Buddhism actually started in India. However, it became an especially strong religious belief in China and other Asian countries. Hence, the number of Buddha statues here are pretty much as diverse in appearance as they are in country of origin. The two beautiful jade Buddha statues here, which have been the original attractions in this temple since 1882, came from present-day Myanmar. The large reclining Buddha, on the other hand, was donated by Singapore. The calm face of the resting Buddha symbolizes a relaxed attitude towards death. The magnificent Grand Hall and a beautiful adjacent courtyard are somehow symbolic of the Buddhist religion. These two areas in the temple will help you understand the serenity and calm that this religion brings to some people despite humanity's inherent mortality.
