I wonder what this good thing is for singapore. My guess:-
1) The budget will not contain money to spend on Old Goat's funeral. Instead, Lee and Lee will be asked to foot the whole bill.
2) The budget will cut all minister's salaries by 90% with immediate effect and the money will be re-distributed to the needy.
3) The budget will force all high ranking govt. officials to sell their Mercedes, and drive Kia's as their official cars.
4) The budget will only pay for a part time driver for the ministers, and they will have to take the MRT for the rest of the week.

Budget will be something good: Tharman

THE upcoming Budget will be 'something good' for Singapore and is likely to benefit not just the low-income group, Finance Minister Tharman Shanmugaratnam said on Sunday.

Measures to help Singaporeans, especially low-income families, cope with the higher cost of living are expected to be a dominant feature of the Budget, which will be unveiled on Feb 18.

Asked what the public can expect from the Budget, Mr Tharman said: 'It will be something good for Singapore.'

'But I think we don't shape Budgets just for the short term, the Budgets are very importantly about strengthening Singapore for the long term.'

He was speaking to reporters at the launch of the 1.4km Taman Jurong Cycling Path which was attended by 300 grassroots members and students.

Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong had said recently that the Government will look to ensure the low-income households can cope with the rising cost of living, which he singled out as a cause of worry for many Singaporeans.

Nothing to talk about in the budget. They are so predictably piece meal give- away in exchange for your life time meal. Singaporeans ain't interested really, it is the Straits Times that kept harping like some sort of heavenly mystery. You know PAP game.

We should be thankful that he didn't do a song and dance when asked that question.
Bet you can guess who would have. :o :D
