The word Thaipusam is a combination of the name of the month, Thai, and the name of a star, Pusam. This particular star is at its highest point during the festival. Thaipusam is celebrated on the full moon day in the Tamil month of “Thai”.

Thaipusam is a thanksgiving festival that involves asceticism and control over one’s senses. It is a day for devotees to celebrate the fulfilment of their vows. In Singapore, this religious festival attracts thousands of Hindu devotees who fulfil their vows through a 4km walk from the Sri Srinivasa Perumal Temple (SSPT) to the Sri Thendayuthapani Temple (STT).

Thaipusam In Singapore The activities associated with Thaipusam festival last for two days at the Sri Thendayuthapani Temple and at the Sri Srinivasa Perumal Temple.

Goldfish have of course forgotten that even under the british empire thaipusam is a holiday. But shh let them stay stupid and beat the drums to celebrate how pap stole 4 holidays

Yes Thaipusam should be declared a Public holiday and they should be allowed to play all the drums and music until 1030pm at nite.
I had found memories of drinking free bandung and picking up coconuts home to grind/squeeze to make coconut milk for curry
