For helping to manage a makeshift prostitution brothel, a Thai national was fined $2,000 in a district court today.
Ramrit Apisit, 44, pleaded guilty to helping to run the prostitution den on June 7 and 8.
According to a Straits Times report, a fellow Thai national, known only as Pramot, was operating a prostitution den in makeshift huts at a forested area off Hougang Avenue 3. Since the start of this year, Apisit had been helping to it whenever he visited Singapore.
When Pramot had returned to Thailand on June 5, he left Apisit in charge.
On June 8, Apisit and two prostitutes were arrested by police officers at 11.30pm, according to court documents.
