Maldonado (Uruguay) (AFP) - Ten people were killed when their plane plummeted into a large body of water in eastern Uruguay, rescue officials said on Friday.
The twin-engine Beechcraft crashed late Thursday into Uruguay's Laguna del Sauce in Maldonado province, 15 kilometers (nine miles) west of the resort city of Punta del Este.
Authorities said it is unlikely they will find any survivors.
Of the eight passengers and two crew members aboard the flight, nine were Argentines and one was Portuguese, authorities said.
