Published 15 October 2015

SINGAPORE - Police have arrested two teens, aged 17 and 19, suspected of robbing a 60-year-old taxi driver in the wee hours of Thursday morning.

The taxi driver told police that he was hurt and robbed of $25 by two men at about 4:15am when he was at Clementi Avenue 1. The two men then fled towards Clementi Ave 2.

Officers arrested one of the suspects at 6.50 am, and arrested the alleged accomplice a few hours later. The stolen money was recovered.

The teens will face court on Friday for the offence of robbery with hurt. If convicted, they could be jailed between five and 20 years each, and also caned a minimum of 12 strokes.
