Teenager killed in machete attack outside Gloucestershire pub


19-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene despite the attention of medics

A man armed with a machete has killed a teenager after an altercation outside a Gloucestershire pub last night.

Zac Evans, 19, has been named as the teenager killed in a fight outside The Pike and Musket pub, Tuffley, at roughly 12.38am today.

Despite the work of medics, he was pronounced dead at the scene and local police officers have launched a murder investigation. A man is now being held in custody.

His mother, Slyv Evans, paid tribute to her son on Facebook today. She wrote: "Rest in peace Zac. Words cannot describe how heartbroken we are.

"A wonderful son, brother, Grandson, boyfriend and friend. You will be greatly missed. A hole in my heart cannot be filled."

"I love you Sparky," she added. "Rest in pease my beautiful son".

Two other men were assaulted by the individual believed to be carrying a machete.

One of the two other men attacked was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital with serious injuries. He underwent surgery and is now understand to be in a serious condition.

The third victim sustained minor injuries.

Gloucestershire Constabulary issued a statement to The Gloucestershire Echo. “Gloucestershire Police are treating this as a murder investigation and would like to speak to anyone who witnessed what happened in the pub's car park or was in the area around the time of the incident and may have seen something which may help with enquiries.”
