Teen robbery suspects arrested

SINGAPORE: Police have arrested two teenagers, aged 17 and 18, for their suspected involvement in a robbery in Hougang in May.
The two victims, also teenagers, were confronted and assaulted by three unknown male subjects at the void deck of Blk 692 Hougang Street 61.
The victims, who were on their way home, were first accused of staring at the trio before being assaulted.
One of the victim's bags containing a mobile phone, cash and valuables worth a total of S$350 was snatched away in the process.
Police managed to establish the identity of one suspect and he was arrested on Friday morning at East Coast Park.
The second suspect was arrested about two hours later at Rivervale Walk.
Police said they are still looking for the third suspect.
The two will be charged in court on Saturday for robbery with hurt, which carries a maximum of 20 years imprisonment and caning of not less than 12 strokes.
