KUALA LUMPUR: A teenage girl is accused of having stabbed her own father after he had disapproved of her relationship with another woman.
The 18-year-old is believed to have committed the offence at 10.30am today at her family home in Taman Desa Bakti, Jinjang, in full view of her family members.
It was understood that both father and daughter had a confrontation over the girl’s lover, which led to a huge row.
Sentul police chief Assistant Commissioner R. Munusamy said the girl is believed to have snatched a kitchen knife and in a rage stabbed her father in the neck twice.
“Police received a call at 10.49 about the incident. A unit responded to the call and arrived minutes later.
“Police were told that family members had already rushed the victim to the Selayang Hospital,” he said.
It was learnt that the father sustained serious injuries. However, at press time, he is still in serious condition.
Munusamy said police immediately arrested the daughter and brought her to the Jinjang police station.
He said the girl is being investigated under Section 326 of the Penal Code for causing grievous hurt using a dangerous weapon.
