A 16-year-old teenager was placed on three year's probation after he was charged with molesting women and girls between January and March this year.
Jeremy Yeo Ming Che was charged with using criminal force to outrage his victims' modesty. The youngest victim was only 11 years old, and the oldest was 41. He was also ordered to perform 60 hours of community service and his parents had to sign a $5,000 bond to ensure his good conduct.
According to Lianhe Wanbao, the Secondary Five student would approach his victims from behind, cover their mouths with one hand to prevent them from calling for help and the other to touch the victims' bodies. He would sometimes push his victims to the floor before groping them.
The part-time airport porter was diagnosed with paedophilia by the Institute of Mental Health, and it was recommended that he undergo the Positive Adolescent Sexuality Treatment programme run by the Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports, as well as receive counselling and supervision while under probation.
His last two victims were accosted at HDB flats in Tampines St 44 and St 22. They were 11 and 15 years old respectively.
According to The Straits Times, Yeo pleaded guilty in July. He said that he did not plan his attacks, but would get an uncontrollable urge to touch them. After striking, he would then run home.
Bedok police analysed the crime pattern following reports, and mounted a stake-out near Tampines St 23 on March 29. This was give days after Yeo molested his 15-year-old victim.
